The ‘pop-up’ on the Pagosa Area Water and Sanitation District website’s home page has been updated in response to questions from the public about how ballots can be returned.
The current PAWSD election will fill three seats on the five-member board of directors, and five candidates appear on the ballot. Ballots were mailed to PAWSD electors around April 16. Voters are allowed to mark up to three candidate names.
The candidates are (in the order they appear on the ballot):
Eugene L. Tautges, Bruce Jones Jr., Alex Boehmer, Christa Chagra, and Carl Lee Young.
Voting continues through 7pm on Tuesday, May 6.
This is a mail ballot election; voters were asked to attach postage to the return envelope and mail the ballot to the Designated Election Official, AJ Beckman, c/o Public Alliance LLC, 405 Urban Street, Suite 310, Lakewood, Co 80228.
Given the possibility that ballots mailed now might not arrive in Lakewood by May 6, some voters have inquired about returning the ballots locally, to the PAWSD office at 100 Lyn Ave.
Here is some updated messaging from the PAWSD website:
PAWSD 2025 Board of Directors Election
The May 6, 2025 election is a mail ballot election as has been the format now since 2014.
