Staff Growth at Community Foundation Serving Southwest Colorado

Rachel Rosenthal

The Community Foundation serving Southwest Colorado has promoted Rachel Rosenthal as the new Grants and Marketing Manager and hired Kim Cassels as the Community Outreach Manager.

“We are excited to see growth in our outreach department and look forward to Rachel and Kim advancing the mission of the Community Foundation as the premier nonprofit funder and donor-services foundation in the region,” says Tracy Pope, Deputy Director for the Community Foundation.

Rachel Rosenthal served as the previous Community Outreach Manager since December 2023. She has been promoted to Grants and Marketing Manager.

Before joining the organization, Rosenthal was a freelance marketing writer and editor, and a special education teacher in the area for 13 years. She was born and raised in Durango and holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Fort Lewis College.

Kim Cassels

Kim Cassels joined the Community Foundation in October after working as a marketer and writer for Mild to Wild Rafting & Jeep Tours for five years. She was raised in Farmington, NM, and graduated from Fort Lewis College with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and multimedia.

The Community Foundation inspires hope, leadership and generosity in the community by bringing economic stability, professional development and collaboration to the nonprofit sector. As a community facilitator, the Community Foundation works to increase efficiency, sustainability and success for nonprofits, while maximizing effective grant-making for philanthropists.
