The Town of Pagosa Springs will modify its hours of operation beginning Friday, August 9, 2024. Town Hall and the Ross Aragon Community Center operating hours will be Monday through Thursday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, and Fridays, 8:00am to 11:30am.
Current hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
The decision to close the office at 11:30am on Fridays comes after a four-month study of traffic and business needs to our facilities, which showed that it was a rare occurrence for anyone to visit Town Hall on Friday afternoons. Additionally, the Town collected data from 38 municipal offices across the state. Of the 38 communities that responded to a question about office hours, 17 organizations are closed for all – or a portion – of the day on Friday.
Through conversations with Town Council and staff, the Town believes that a reduction in office hours on Friday will not affect the Town’s ability to be responsive to the community. Residents are still invited to visit Town Hall Monday through Friday during the new operating hours to ask questions and conduct Town business.
“We made the decision to close Town Hall and the Community Center at 11:30 a.m. on Fridays to enhance work-life balance for City employees,” stated Town Manager David Harris. “The Town remains committed to maintaining a high level of customer service and we are dedicated to ensuring the community’s needs continue to be addressed in a timely manner.”
