PAGOSA FARMERS MARKET: ‘Three Fords’ Farm is Market’s Newest Vendor

Three Fords Farm will be selling their farm-to-table foods for the first time at the Pagosa Farmers Market on Saturdays in the new location at Tennyson Sculpture and Garden Park on Lewis Street.

Three Fords is a Pagosa Springs farm that produces pasture-raised, non-GMO beef, pork, goat, eggs and honey.

Cherie, along with her husband Matt and son Tucker, make sure all products are of the finest quality while feed and supplements are purchased from regional suppliers who share their same values and work towards developing sustainable foods.

All of Three Fords livestock are raised lovingly and sustainably. Pasture-raised means the animals are ‘rotationally’ grazing on a combination of drylands and irrigated pastures. Electric mesh fences are moved periodically to ensure new grass, bugs and foraging. Therefore the meats provide high nutritional value and exceptional taste that is expected from farm-to-table products.

Although Cherie and Matt are originally from Pagosa, they spent a number of years in Texas and Saudi Arabia and didn’t start farming in earnest until 2022 when Cherie decided to embrace her passion for animals and the farm lifestyle. Anyone interested in the farm lifestyle is invited to follow the Farm online and watch as the family repairs chicken coops, birth baby goats and stays up all night feeding them, rescues an errant bee swarm, mends fences, etc.

Their Wildflower honey, harvested from Matt’s bee hives, was a popular item at the Market’s opening weekend and was sold out by the end of the day. But there will be lots more at this Saturday’s Market along with their other delectable products.

The Pagosa Farmers Market runs every Saturday, 9am till 1pm, until the end of September. SNAP cards are accepted and $20 of free Double Up Bucks are available on the first $20 purchase, doubling purchase power!
