Regarding the Passing of Chrystal Snow

Dear PCI Families,

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of our beloved Family Services Director, Chrystal Snow. As a founder of Pagosa Community Initiative, Chrystal’s dedication, kindness, tenacity, and tireless work for our community touched many lives.

Her passion and energy will be profoundly missed by all of us.

In honor of Chrystal, we have decided to continue with our participation in the Fourth of July Parade. This organization was Chrystal’s passion. She loved and invested her heart into it, and we believe that proceeding with the parade is a fitting tribute to her memory and the vibrant spirit she brought to our community.

Bus decorating will still be held today, July 3 from 2-4pm in the PCI parking lot, 3133 Cornerstone Dr.  You are welcome to drop in any time to add all the pink in honor of Chrystal.

However, due to the circumstances, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Makers Market in the Studios space. We understand the significance of this event, but we feel it is important to focus on honoring Chrystal in a way that aligns with her vision and dedication.  Therefore, we will still be holding the planned bake sale in the Studios space.  Proceeds will be donated to Rise Above Violence, a cause that was near and dear to Chrystal’s heart.

To support those affected by this loss, PCI will have therapists standing by, resources, and support available at the Studios space. If you or your family need someone to talk to or a quiet space for reflection, please don’t hesitate to reach out.  We are here for you during this challenging time. There is no way that we will be able to fill the void that Chrystal’s absence will create in this community.  However, we will continue our work at PCI and work our hardest to carry on her legacy.

We extend our deepest condolences to Chrystal’s family and friends. Let us come together as a community to celebrate her life and continue her legacy of love and support for each other.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

With heartfelt sympathy,

Rebecca Tenpenny, Randye Taylor, McKenna Keys, Adriana Medina, Jenna Waite-Gannon, and the Board of Directors
Chrystal’s Pagosa Community Initiative Family
