VIDEO: 2024 Environmental Film Festival Will Feature Nine Films

Geothermal Greenhouse Partnership (GGP) invites you to join with friends for fabulous food and fantastic films this coming weekend. The 2024 Environmental Film Festival is Friday evening, April 19, and Saturday, April 20, at the Tennyson Event Center. GGP’s eleventh Environmental Film Festival kicks off Pagosa’s Earth Day celebrations.

Tickets are on sale now at www.pagosagreen.org.

GGP supporters gather Premiere Gala on Friday night from 5 to 10pm. Two feature length films will be shown, both 2024 award-winners. Steve Blechschmidt’s acoustic guitar accompanies a catered stand-up dinner by Kellie and Todd Stevens of Farrago’s and Kathy Keyes of Pagosa Baking Company. Framed photographs by Pagosa Photography Club members will be displayed and for sale.

The outstanding caterers and a cash bar will provide plenty of refreshments. A wristband for the Premiere Gala is $60 and includes admission to all nine films on Saturday.

“Covenant of the Salmon People” won Best Feature Film at the CEFF in 2024. The film explores the relationship between the Indigenous Nez Perce people, their Snake River homeland and their dangerously threatened salmon. The story is told through a diversity of voices, but a Nez Perce point of view.

“Flyways: The Untold Journey of Migratory Birds” is an Australian pro- duction with amazing cinematography and a breath-taking soundtrack. “Flyways” is sure to be a favorite among Pagosans who value birds and their riparian habitats.

The Premiere Gala is $60 and ticket holders for Friday evening are admitted to all films on Saturday. All proceeds from the Film Fest benefit the operations of non-profit GGP.

Saturday’s General Admission tickets are only $10. Nine films will be shown on Saturday and wrist-banded guests can come and go. Ritual Food Truck offers a variety of foods on Saturday from just off the Tennyson patio.

Nine films, all new to Pagosa Springs, will be shown in Saturday beginning at 10am. The doors will open at 9am. The last film of the day will begin at 7pm. Some films will be shown twice on Saturday so that all environmental film enthusiasts have a chance to see each film.

Saturday’s schedule of films is shown here in order:

  • “Paddle Tribal Waters.”
