The San Juan National Forest is hiring seven entry-level, permanent seasonal wildland firefighters to work on hotshot, helitack, and hand crews. Applicants are encouraged to attend the in-person hiring events for priority consideration. The following positions are being filled:
- Durango – two San Juan Interagency Hotshot positions and one Durango Helitack position
- Pagosa Ranger District – four Handcrew positions
Job seekers are invited to two recruitment events to meet current wildland firefighters and learn about the agency, current wildland firefighter job opportunities, employment benefits, and obtain application assistance.
