The Geothermal Greenhouse Partnership (GGP) is hosting its largest fundraiser of 2023 on Saturday, November 11. ‘Three Sisters at your Thanksgiving Table’ is a veggie feast that is all about fun, food, music and creativity.
GGP supporters will gather at the Pagosa Lakes Property Owners Association Clubhouse from 4 to 8pm for Three Sisters at Your Thanksgiving Table.
GGP volunteers will serve a scrumptious succotash dinner, a veggie feast prepared by some of the best cooks in town. All cooks can bring their own special Three Sisters dishes for tasting and a group of expert tasters will choose the best recipes. Every cook bring- ing a dish for tasting gets in free.
The Three Sisters are Indigenous foods worth celebrating: corn and beans and squash. These native vegetables have been grown together and eaten together for generations.
The GGP’s event will celebrate this regional culinary heritage while raising operational funds for the educational west end of Centennial Park. (Remember, everyone, pumpkins are squash!)
Guests will enjoy live music by Brooks-I and Cuatro Cruz. The Pagosa Springs Photography Club will treat guests to a Best of 2023 photography exhibit.
The family-friendly event will offer nonalcoholic beverages, but invites adults to taste beers brewed in northern New Mexico. The GGP’s signature chokecherry drizzled champagne will be available. Each ticket holder receives one drink, but a cash bar will be open all evening.
Blue cornmeal will be for sale in 24-ounce bags, freshly ground from 2023’s harvest. The non-GMO corn meal is grown at the Ute Mountain’s Four Corners tribal farm, far enough away from other corn producers that there’s no chance of cross pollination with commercial seed. Bags of this gourmet blue cornmeal are hard to find in retail settings, so stock up for your holiday season at the GGP’s Three Sisters event.
The GGP is a volunteer- and donation-driven nonprofit organization that operates three dome greenhouses on the Riverwalk. The GGP works for community and is supported by community. Go to the GGP website to purchase your tickets for ‘Three Sisters at your Thanksgiving Table’. A wide range of ticket prices ensures that all are welcome at the GGP’s harvest celebration.
All proceeds benefit GGP’s educational operations.
Tax-deductible donations can always be made at the Colorado Gives website. Colorado Gives Day is coming up, but you don’t have to wait. Donate any day to GGP… a homegrown, grassroots community service organization.
