St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church’s annual clothing giveaway offers the perfect opportunity to share your lightly used, ‘too-big’ or ‘too-small’ or ‘out-of-date’ winter clothing with the wider community.
Past clothing drives have reaped truckloads of good winter clothing such that we wonder if there is a full closet left in Pagosa Spring. Yet every year we are pleasantly surprised by the largess that finds its way out of dark closet shelves, back of the drawer, under the bed, to welcome the light of day at our clothing roundup.
While you may not appreciate that slightly small pant suit or blazer gathering dust in your closet, others may love to have it for a job interview.
This year’s roundup will kick off at St. Patrick’s Parish Hall, 225 S Pagosa Blvd., this coming Saturday, October 14, from 9am to noon, with further donations accepted Monday through Wednesday, October 16-18, from 9am to 1pm.
St. Patrick’s sorting staff appreciates clean winter clothing sorted by size.
The giveaway event is October 21 from 9am to 1pm. All are welcome to come shop for free that day. We will have everything shaken out, folded or hung for easy shopping. Come find that perfect outfit, new hiking pants, a warm winter coat or a stunning Halloween costume.
Clothing for all ages will be available, as well as some kitchen items from St. Patrick’s soon-to-be-remodeled kitchen, and excess quilting supplies from our quilting group.
