PHOTO ESSAY: ‘Runway for Rise’ a Sold-Out Entertainment

Runway For Rise – A Fashion Gala sold out early and the creative talent came out in full force to entertain a sold-out crowd September 30 at the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts.

The inaugural event was a tremendous success.

10 teams of creators designed amazing “Haute Couture” using a trash bag, duct tape, thrift store purchases and something from nature. The clever and artistic creations were kept tightly secret, the diversity of designs were kept totally unique. Valuable items from each the ensembles were auctioned for the cause way beyond original value and a few were donated back to re-Auction to add more to the benefit.
Runway super models with lights and cameras directly focused, amazing.

So much Fun. Another Pagosa tradition has been initiated.

When life goes awry, help can seem lost in all the circumstances and details of the turmoil. A phone call could find a path to the solution. A helpline. Pagosa Springs has a helpline for those who need someone to listen and understand, to provide counseling and emotional support. Rise above Violence has a 24/7 Hotline — 970-264-9075 — where anyone can talk confidentially, toward solutions.

Raising funds to facilitate all the expenses to provide this important service requires many caring and creative geniuses.

A good cause and a giving community come together… again.
