Public Meeting Tomorrow Will Address ‘Older Americans Act’ Programs

A friendly reminder that Archuleta Seniors Inc. — also known as the Pagosa Senior Center — will host a public meeting for Older Americans Act Programs & Services tomorrow, Tuesday, February 7 at 2pm.

The Senior Center is located at 451 Hot Springs Blvd (Ross Aragon Community Center).

You are invited to attend, and please help us spread the word so we can have a diverse representation at the meeting. We are trying to coordinate with the County to bring Seniors from Socorro, Casa de los Arcos, and Archuleta Housing for the Elderly to participate.

This public meeting will provide an update the Region 9 Area Plan for state fiscal years 2023 through 2027, regarding Older Americans Act programs and services that are primarily funded through the San Juan Basin Area Agency on Aging.

Planning issues that will be discussed will include: Meals on Wheels, meal sites, transportation, snow shoveling, home repair, legal assistance, ombudsman support, low vision, tech classes, dental assistance, Medicare, Medicaid, counseling options, information referral assistance, fall prevention, support groups, caregiver services and community education resources.

Light refreshments will be provided and door prizes will be awarded. Door prizes include: gift card to Walmart, Pagosa Baking Company gift card, Chokecherry gift pack, Mountain Pizza gift card, Natural Grocers gift card, and fudge from Made in Colorado Gift Shoppe.
