I read with great interest Mr. Beatty’s letter in the November 22 edition of the Pagosa Daily Post. If Mr. Beatty’s account is accurate, and I have no reason to think it not, the conduct of the prosecution in the Rittenhouse case was appalling to me.
Moreover, regarding the photo of the prosecutor holding the rifle, if he was in fact pointing it at the jury, that thuggish conduct by an officer of the court is beyond words, in my opinion.
For an account of even more egregious prosecutorial and law-enforcement conduct, read John Grisham’s The Innocent Man. The book reads like a Grisham novel, but it is unfortunately non-fiction.
