The Colorado Department of Transportation is seeking to dispose of property located on the Florida Mesa of La Plata County. CDOT is offering the property through a sealed bid auction process. Bids must be received by 12:59pm on Thursday, October 21.

The property is located at 102 Short Place on the west side of US Highway 550 and has an appraised value of $435,000. The 1.91 acre parcel contains a 2016 sq. ft., three bedroom home. An open house will be held at the property site on October 14 from 9am – 12pm.

CDOT occasionally disposes of excess property when a property is not needed. Before CDOT can sell excess real estate, it must be reviewed by the various departments within the agency to determine if there is any need for the property. If it is determined that there is no future need for the property, an appraisal is done to determine its estimated fair market value. The property is then put up for auction via sealed bid.
