PAWSD Board Votes to Implement Mandatory Watering Restrictions

The Pagosa Area Water and Sanitation District (PAWSD), in compliance with its 2020 Drought Management Plan, is currently in a STAGE 1 Drought Stage. The primary driver of this drought stage is the San Juan River flow in conjunction with the U.S. Drought Monitor (USDM) which indicates our area is in a Severe to Extreme Drought.

Under the Drought 1 State there is mandatory water use restriction limiting irrigation to the hours after 6:00pm in the evening, through 9:00am in the morning.

This spring we have seen higher than normal temperatures. PAWSD is also continuing to request voluntary odd/even watering days, requesting that if your address is an odd number only irrigate on odd calendar days and vice-versa for even number addresses.
