Ruby Sission Library Adjusts to COVID Limitations

By Meg Wempe

Hello, and happy December to you! We hope that this note finds you staying well and enjoying these sunny days.

By the time you read this, Archuleta County will have moved to Level Red. You may be wondering what that means for the Ruby Sisson Library. The Library was declared a critical service, so we will continue providing services the community needs while keeping staff and patrons safe.

With Level Red:

  • Limiting to 15 patrons at a time inside the Library
  • Meeting rooms will be limited to individuals or same household only
  • One-on-one programs will continue (Tech Time, PALS, GED and ESL) by appointment
  • Continued curbside during open hours and beyond to lessen number in Library and lessen exposure

In an additional effort to limit exposure and for continuity of service should a staff member test positive, we have split staff into two different workgroups. We appreciate your patience if the phone rings an extra time, or you have to wait a few seconds to receive help checking items out or at the computers.

Masks remain required to enter the Library. If you are unable or unwilling to wear a mask, we have made reasonable accommodations to assist you through curbside and virtually. Please contact us so that we can serve you.

Don’t let Level Red get you down. We have a lot of fun things planned for December…

On behalf of the staff of the Library, we wish you a happy and healthy holiday season.

Meg Wempe is Director of the Ruby M. Sisson Memorial Library.
