That is one of the key messages delivered in the following video, produced by the Los Angeles Times Studios. The video features four women who are suffering from lingering health effects following a COVID-19 diagnosis — health effects that don’t align with the common belief that this viral infection mainly affects the respiratory system. The video also questions the common belief that a COVID-19 infection typically lasts about 14 days.
The four women in the video continue to exhibit health challenges months after their initial test.
The two physicians leading the discussion are Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, Executive Chairman of the Los Angeles Times, and Carlos Cordon-Cardo, a leading researcher with the Mt. Sinai Health System in New York.
