My wife and I are in the process of building a retirement home in Pagosa Springs. We currently live in Austin, TX … and I enjoy reading the Pagosa Daily Post to track local PS news.
Last night, I read your series, ‘EDITORIAL: Extraordinary Changes’ series … in particular, Parts Eight and Nine.
It was shocking to read how TABOR (Taxpayers Bill of Rights) Notice is being violated.
This morning, I listened to your polite explanation (minute 12:21 – 16:10) on how your 399-word submission was edited down to 111 words, in a YouTube video, Archuleta County 1.5% Sales Tax Increase Ballot Inclusion.
It is very sad to hear and read that a “fair election” is NOT being followed, and rather a “mis-equal election” is being perpetrated.
Thank you for being a “watch-dog” on local government fairness, and helping make more transparent when County government employees spend Pagosa taxpayers’ money promoting a tax increase.
If your Editorial is accurate, it is very unfortunate for a County government (designated election official) employee to:
1) Censor properly submitted arguments ‘Against’ Ballot Issue 1A
2) Promote ‘For’ arguments that were never properly submitted by a registered voter
Please feel free to share my letter of feedback with your readers.

Hank Lydick
