Expect Delays at Highway 160 Wildlife Crossing Project

The Colorado Department of Transportation will initiate a new traffic pattern starting this week at the U.S. 160 and Colo. 151 wildlife crossing project.

The new pattern will stop both directions of traffic while crews work on placing panels for the wildlife overpass. The new pattern will take place Thursday or Friday and continue into the week of May 9 with no work expected over the weekends, weather permitting. Motorists can anticipate up to 15-minute delays.

The plan is to keep vehicles out of the vicinity of the wall panel lifts, for the safety of workers and motorists. Please allow for extra travel time while this work is taking place.

Excavation, building the concrete sidewalls, backfilling the sidewalls, painting the structure, fencing and seeding the natural landscaping on the bridge are the final tasks required to conclude the project, expected in July.

For additional information about this project, call the project hotline: (970) 903-4004.
