Food Coalition ‘Orientation’ Event Today, Jan. 20

Since mid-December, Healthy Archuleta dba FSFE Food Coalition has been hosting orientation gatherings via zoom to introduce the community to the CDPHE funded Nutrition Security-Health Equity Assessment effort in Archuleta County. Nearly 70 people, including residents and community leaders have participated in these orientations. The next gathering is scheduled for today, Thursday, January 20, from 2:00-3:30pm during the Zoom Community Conversation.

Healthy Archuleta, alongside community members like you, will examine efforts across the County to identify issues and address food insecurity, as well as explore new interventions to advance nutrition security. The assessment will also identify barriers to health equity through the lens of healthcare access and utilization. The development of the plan began in December and will continue through June. Please come and learn about the assessment and help contribute to the plan.

Volunteers Needed to Assist with Administrative Tasks
The work of Healthy Archuleta has grown substantially over the past year and as we continue to deepen our reach into the community we are looking to directly involve more community members in the day to day tasks that advance nutrition security and health equity. Key to Healthy Archueta’s work with the community are essential but sometimes mundane administrative tasks.

And that is where we need your help! If you know of someone or you yourself are interested in supporting the work of the Food Coalition with administrative tasks, please contact us at fsfearchuleta@gmail.com or call 401-371-3227.
