On Saturday, September 26, the Ross Aragon Community Center will be transformed for an evening of music, dining, dancing, and community spirit as Archuleta Seniors, Inc. (ASI) hosts its second annual Masquerade Ball.
More than an elegant evening out, this event is ASI’s most important fundraiser, helping sustain programs that older adults in Archuleta County depend on every day.
ASI’s mission is simple but powerful:
To serve our community by empowering individuals who are 60 and better, and their families, to promote independence and advance community resilience.
Funds raised during the Masquerade Ball directly support programs that help older adults remain healthy, connected, and independent. Among the organization’s best-known services is Meals on Wheels, which provides nutritious meals and regular wellness checks to seniors who may otherwise be isolated. Donations also support caregiver resources, wellness programs, educational opportunities, Monday-Friday in-dining and take out meals, and social activities that strengthen connectivity and social interactions.
Why Your Support Matters
Providing nutritious meals to our senior community comes at a cost—$12-$13 per meal. Yet for those 60 and over, we ask for only a $6 suggested donation, and no one is ever turned away because they cannot pay. In reality, the average contribution we receive is just $3.50 per meal, leaving an $8.50 funding gap. Additionally, all of our wellness programs and activities are free of charge.
That gap is where your generosity makes a profound difference.
Since most of our programs are federally funded, community support now days is more important than ever. Your generosity helps bridge the gap and ensures these essential services remain available to our neighbors.
An Evening That Gives Back
Guests attending the Masquerade Ball will enjoy dinner, live music by SoulFire, dancing, cash bars, a silent auction for adventurous getaways, a wine pull, photo opportunities, and a lively costume contest. Whether you arrive in an elaborate Venetian-inspired costume or simply wear a festive mask, the evening promises fun while supporting an important cause.
