Thingamajig Theatre Company actors competed in the fourth annual Bob Howard Memorial Pickleball Tournament on August 4 in honor of Bob Howard, a longtime theatre patron who died in 2022.
Howard was an active member of the Pagosa aviation community and also a member of the Gray Golf Ski Club and Pagosa Springs Golf Club. Host Carole Howard is standing left in the photo above.
Two-person pickleball tournament teams were created by a random card drawing. The tournament was played on a court on the Howard driveway.
Winners were Koko Waller and Trevor Brown. Tournament director was Pagosa resident Kate Alfred. Scorekeeper was actor-director Dennis Elkins.
The actors also played in a croquet tournament, with Georgia Fender the winner…
…and enjoyed the French game of boules in a just-for-fun competition.
The actors are performing this summer in three Broadway musicals in rotation at the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts: “Come From Away,” “Company” and “Fiddler on the Roof.”
