My name is Colonel George Markert, United States Marine Corps (Retired), and today I am proud to tell you that I have accepted Victor Marx’s invitation to join his ticket as the Republican nominee for Lieutenant Governor of Colorado.
For more than 30 years I wore the uniform of this country. I led Marines in combat and in crisis. I served as a logistics and operational commander across the globe — from the Middle East to the Pacific — and finished my career as a senior leader trusted with some of the hardest missions the Corps could hand to a Marine. I made decisions when lives were on the line.
I didn’t come to this decision to accept Victor’s invitation lightly.
I’ve watched what’s happened to our state. I’ve watched parents lose control of their children’s education. I’ve watched soft-on-crime policies turn once-safe communities into places where people lock their doors in the middle of the day. I’ve watched our energy potential get strangled, our borders remain wide open, and career politicians in Denver treat ordinary Coloradans like an afterthought.
Victor Marx is not a career politician. He is a fighter who has spent his life rescuing the vulnerable, standing for truth, and refusing to back down.
Like Victor, I don’t do politics as usual. So, when he asked me to stand with him, I said yes because Colorado doesn’t need more failed career politicians. Colorado needs warriors who will actually fight to take this state back.
Here’s what you can expect from us:
We will put public safety first — no more revolving-door justice.
We will defend parents’ rights and protect our kids.
We will unleash Colorado’s energy and economic strength instead of apologizing for them.
We will stand with law enforcement and the men and women who keep us safe.
We will never be intimidated by the political class that got us into this mess.
As Marines, Victor and I both know how to take ground and hold it. But we cannot do this alone. The general election is coming up fast. The other side is already organized, funded, and determined to keep Colorado on its current path.
This isn’t about left or right for me. It’s about right and wrong. It’s about whether Colorado will be a place where families can thrive, where the law actually means something, and where leaders answer to the people instead of the other way around.
All I ask for you today is to stand with us.
Victor is all in. I am all in.
Now we need you all in.
Semper Fi,
Colonel George Markert, USMC (Ret)
GOP Nominee, Lieutenant Governor of Colorado
