Ruby Sisson Library Fundraiser to Honor 100 Extraordinary Women

The Ruby M. Sisson Memorial Library is a cherished community resource, welcoming, inclusive, and deeply valued by the thousands of people it serves each month. But the Library has outgrown its current space. As our community grows, so does the demand for programs, resources, and spaces where people of all ages can gather, learn, and connect.

The existing building, constructed in 1989, no longer meets the needs of today’s readers, students, job seekers, families, and lifelong learners.

By supporting the Mountains of Opportunity “100 Extraordinary Women Campaign”, your honoree donation helps fund a larger, more accessible, and better-equipped library. It’s a meaningful way to celebrate someone special while contributing to a lasting resource where history, ideas, creativity, and opportunity are shared and celebrated by all.

Through the 100 Extraordinary Women Campaign, we’re raising the final funds for a major expansion that will allow us to offer:

  • A 150-seat community room (with flexible dividers for smaller gatherings)
  • A dedicated children’s room with early literacy programming and a potential outdoor exploration area
  • A vibrant teen/tween room for learning, creativity, and fun
  • Private study rooms for small groups or individual use
  • A collaborative makerspace for hands-on, intergenerational learning
  • Outdoor areas for reading, events, and discovery

Your $1,000 donation can be made In Honor Of or In Memory Of someone special, whether it’s a mother, mentor, teacher, friend, or even yourself.  All honoree names will be permanently displayed on a beautifully etched recognition wall in our new Community Room.

This expansion is about more than bricks and mortar. It’s about providing vital access to technology, job resources, educational tools, wellness programs, and lifelong learning opportunities. It’s about preserving and sharing history, culture, and ideas in a space that belongs to everyone.

Be part of something extraordinary. Help us reach the top—and build a stronger, more connected community through the power of the library.

To make your donation, visit the 100 Extraordinary Women website.  Gifts are tax-deductible to the extent provided by law.
