Highway 160 Re-opened to Traffic; Pagosa Evacuation Orders May be Lifted

The Pagosa Springs Police Department is providing the following update regarding current flooding conditions in the area:

US Highway 160, between Hot Springs Boulevard and Highway 84, has reopened to vehicular traffic. Motorists are urged to drive with caution as crews continue to monitor road conditions.

The pedestrian sidewalk on the south side of the 1st Street bridge remains closed due to the rerouting of temporary sewer lines. Pedestrians should use alternate routes and avoid the area for their safety.

All town parks remain closed due to ongoing flooding and elevated water levels. Public access will resume once conditions are deemed safe by town officials.

Mandatory evacuations are tentatively scheduled to be lifted at 4:00 PM today, contingent upon water levels receding to a safe threshold. Residents in affected areas should stay alert for further updates and be prepared to remain evacuated if conditions do not improve.

The Pagosa Springs Police Department continues to coordinate with emergency management and public works teams to ensure public safety and restore normal operations as quickly as possible.
