CHAMBER NEWS: Numerous September Events Include 9/11 Service at Veterans Memorial Park

September has always been a time of new beginnings for students and families. A time to adjust into different yet familiar schedules. It also represents the season of saying goodbye to the summer activities and hello to the fall and winter activities.

Among the activities we would like to highlight for this week, is the 9/11 Memorial Service from 11:00am – 12:00pm at the Veterans Memorial Park of Archuleta County, and then we have the Chimney Rock Interpretive Association Movie Fundraiser, also on September 11, at the Liberty Theatre, 418 Pagosa St, from 5 – 9pm.

Pagosa Springs also has many other activities going on around town, so please take a minute to see what classes are happening, check out the farmer’s market, visit our parks and trails, and see where the live music is.

I bring up all the activities going on in Pagosa to remind you that our 39th annual Colorfest is happening September 19-21. We kick off the fun Friday night at Yamaguchi Park with Passport to Pagosa. This event is from 6 – 9pm and it will feature food from at least seven restaurants in town, and wine from around the world. We will also enjoy entertainment by Maxwell Miller while dining.

Tune in each Wednesday to the Chamber morning show at 8am or the Chamber Live Stream at 2:30pm where we will reveal each of the restaurants that will be participating in the ‘best of” categories. We will begin announcing our generous sponsors that help us make this weekend the best weekend ever.

On Saturday morning we will have the first mass balloon event in the downtown area. Then beginning at 4pm – 8pm we will have our annual Bands and Brews Festival. Our brewers will be competing for best brew and bragging rights. Join us for great food, brews, and music. We will have Bo DePeña and Sol Over Luna playing on Saturday.

Weather permitting, we will have a Balloon night glow at Yamaguchi Park. A fun evening for sure.

Then we send the weekend off with a bang by having our second mass balloon ascension on the West side of town by Walmart.

It will be a wonderful time in Yamaguchi Park all weekend, and tickets are still available. Please do not miss the great food and fun. Tickets are available online or come by the chamber office, and we will be glad to get you all set up for Colorfest 2025!
