Pagosa UU Fellowship Looks Ahead

As we move slowly towards equal days and nights, there seems to be a shift; cooler perhaps, and an invitation to spend some time noticing.

When we take time to simply be, we have the chance to observe the inner and outer landscapes of our being and our place in the world. The Pagosa Unitarian Universalist (UU) Fellowship is taking the next two Sundays, August 24 and August 31, as a short respite from the busy days of summer.

A Look Ahead
Just as school gets underway, we too in faith communities begin a new season of gathering, learning and growing our spirits in community. Our Sunday morning programming begins at 10:30am.

September 7 at 10:30am, our Sunday morning service will be an in-gathering with story, song and our annual water communion. A long-time tradition in many UU congregations, we bring water from our summer travels or activities and share in a simple ritual to begin our Fellowship year.

September 14, and each second Sunday of the month, we gather in a sharing circle to go deeper into our spiritual growth. For the next few months, will spend time around the theme of hope. All are invited to share in this small group, spiritual practice of deep listening.

September 21, the Pagosa UU Fellowship will hold a focus on the Autumn Equinox, which occurs on September 22. Our Pagan ancestors celebrated this time of year as the second harvest and a time of thanksgiving for the bounty the earth offers. All are welcome to join us for this honoring. Stay tuned for more information to come.

A standing invitation is extended to you for the on-going weekly meditation practice, Sunday, August 22, at 7:00 p.m. The schedule for meditation is as follows:

1st & 3rd Sundays – 7:00 – 7:45 pm (a shortened meditation only practice)
2nd & 4th Sundays – 7:00 – 8:30 pm (meditation practice and Dharma talk)  This practice is led by a certified meditation instructor, and has been authorized as a Dharma teacher.
