Annual ‘School Supply Drive’ Seeks Your Donations

The Pagosa Community Initiative is honored to lead our town’s effort to equip local students for the new school year. Our annual School Supply Drive kicked off August 1 and runs through Sepember 8, giving families and students a vital head start as they prepare for classrooms, projects and new teachers.

This drive is about more than just backpacks and pencils. It’s a statement that our community stands with every student and family who works hard to meet the demands of a new school year.

We’re focused on building confidence in our students by making sure they have the essentials from day one.

The items we’re seeking include notebooks, pens and pencils, eras- ers, crayons and markers, rulers, backpacks, binders and folders, calculators, glue sticks, and scissors. No contribution is too small; every donation moves us closer to ensuring a strong start for a child.

To make participation easy, drop-off locations are spread throughout Pagosa Springs. You can bring supplies to The Pagosa Community Initiative Studios, Wyndham, Kip’s Grill and Cantina, Rosie’s Pizzeria, and Riff Raff Brewing.

For those who prefer to give from home, online donations are welcome at www.pagosacommunityinitiative.org.

We understand that families often face tough choices, especially at the start of a new school year. That is why we emphasize that generosity, in any amount, makes a real difference. A gift to this drive helps us keep more backpacks filled and more students ready to learn. Our hope is that the community will rally together to support our students, teachers and families through these weeks of preparation.

If you’d like more information or wish to arrange larger donations, please contact Pagosa Community Initiative at 550B Hot Springs Road or call (970) 585-6521. We’re grateful for every donation, every volunteer hour and every kind word from supporters who believe in the potential of every child in our town.

As we work together, we are confident this drive will strengthen our classrooms, empower our students and reinforce the sense that Pagosa is a community that shows up for its youth. Thank you for your generosity and support.
