August is such a wonderful month; it is still Summer which is a time to relax and enjoy the company of friends. School in Pagosa doesn’t start until September… so why not join the Chamber of Commerce at our First Annual Grillin’ & Distillin’ event, to be held Saturday August 23 at The Archuleta County Fairgrounds from 12:00pm – 5:00pm.
Grillin’ and Distillin’ combines the best of two worlds. There will be BBQ to taste and vote on, spirits to taste and vote on, food trucks, retail vendors… and of course live music.
Grillers will be judged on chicken, brisket, ribs and beans. There will be a People’s Choice award for both Grillin’ and Distillin’ where you the community, get to vote on who you think makes the best BBQ and Spirits. To be a part of the tasting crew you will need to get a tasting ticket either online at Pagosachamber.com or at the gate on August 23. It is $25.00 per tasting ticket or $45.00 for a combined tasting ticket. General Admission is $10.00, and you get to enjoy beer/wine, food trucks and some amazing music. We will have two performers on Saturday. From 1:00pm – 2:30pm we will have the country music of Tylor Brandon, and back by popular demand from 3:00pm – 5:00pm we will have Sol over Luna!
All awards will be announced at 5:00pm.
Now for the exciting announcement about our Distillers! We will have Woods High Mountain Distillery out of Salida, 1874 Distillery from Del Norte, Molly Brown Distillery from Denver, Art of The Spirits Distillery from Colorado Springs, and Spirit Hound Distillers from Lyons with a few more distilleries expected. Each of the distillers are a part of the Colorado Distillers Guild and we are excited to show them how great Pagosa Springs is.
This is an inaugural event for the Pagosa Chamber, and we are looking forward to sharing this event with everyone and watching it grow for years to come. This event is fun for the whole family, and a great way to enjoy food and music. We will have plenty of parking since it is at the County Fairgrounds, so invite your friends and let’s enjoy our first Grillin’ and Distillin’!
