Greg Lopez Announces Run for Colorado Governor

Yesterday, in a short three-minute video, former congressman Greg Lopez on his website https://www.greglopez.co/ launched his “PEOPLE OVER POLITICS” campaign and described what the future of Colorado would look like under his administration.

He states, “Imagine a Colorado where families don’t have to choose between buying groceries or paying rent; where small businesses aren’t buried by high taxes and endless regulations; where we don’t argue about safety – we make it a priority; where kids get the education they need – free from politics, full of opportunity”.

A veteran, former mayor, small business owner, and most recently the U.S. Representative for Colorado’s 4th Congressional District, Lopez walked away from Washington to fight a battle he says matters more, right here at home.

“We’ve got to stop copying California. We’re Colorado. We solve problems. We take care of each other. We think for ourselves. That’s who we are — and that’s who we need to be again.”

Lopez says, “People Over Politics” means cutting through government red tape, making life more affordable, and putting families first”.

And he believes the path to a better Colorado runs through more than just partisan bases. It runs through the urban corridor. Through Colorado’s fast-growing Hispanic communities. Through the hearts of independent voters who’ve been left behind by both parties.

“My whole life, I’ve been a listener, a problem solver, a fighter for the people. I’m running to fix what’s broken and bring people together. Not as a Republican governor. But a Colorado Governor.”

Lopez will officially launch his campaign with a statewide “People Over Politics” tour later this month.

“This isn’t about left or right,” he said. “It’s about right and wrong. It’s about fighting for the Colorado we all love. If you’re ready for something different, something honest, something hopeful, then I’m asking you to join us.”
