During the Pagosa UU Fellowship service this Sunday, June 2, we will hear portions of a sermon given by the Rev. Dr. William J. Danaher Jr., Rector of Christ Church Cranbrook, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan entitled Pride is for Everyone. With June traditionally being Pride month, and as a Welcoming Congregation, as designated by the Unitarian Universalist Association’s Welcoming Congregations Renewal Program, we will explore what that statement means in this morning’s service.
The Pagosa UU Fellowship gained the Welcoming designation in 2015, and it is time for renewal. The Welcoming Congregation Program was launched to help congregations “learn how to undo homophobia — and later, transphobia in our hearts and minds, our congregations, and our communities.”
Revisiting and renewing our commitment to the Welcoming Congregation status will help the Pagosa UU Fellowship stay up-to-date with our shared values of equity and compassion in our relations. We aspire to be a welcoming spiritual home to all of who you are.
Pagosa UU Fellowship in-person services are normally on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month at 10:30. Find us in Unit B-15 of the Greenbriar Plaza 301 N. Pagosa Blvd. on the north side facing Pagosa Peak.
