Sign Up for Rural Philanthropy Days by This Wednesday

For those non-profit agencies interested in attending Southwest Rural Philanthropy Days in Durango June 7-9, you have until this Wednesday, May 24, to register.

The early bird registration rate has already expired; however, you can still register for the event.

I would encourage non-profits to attend this once-every four-year event whether you are a seasoned agency or relatively new. This conference has changed over the years, so it is important that you get up to speed.

The educational piece, networking with other organizations and the ability to get in front of philanthropic funders is crucial. In preparation for this event, the Community Resource Center will be hosting 3 training sessions. Attendees will need to attend one of these sessions virtually.

For first-time attendees, one of these sessions is required. Sessions are May 24 from 10-11:30am, May 25 from 1-2:30pm, and May 31 from 1-2:30pm.

On Thursday, May 25 from 1-3:30pm, the Pagosa Chamber, CDC and Library will co-host this training event. We will offer the training at the Library virtually, and then Mary Jo Coulehan, former RPD co-chair, Beth Lamberson, CDC grant writer and RPD veteran, and Cindi Galabota who sits on the RPD steering committee will be available to answer questions and help you with preparing for the event. Preparation includes things like getting your “elevator speech” down, narrowing down your focus of ask to appeal to certain funders, helping to streamline your organization’s attendance and presentation, and any other questions you might have.

We would like our non-profit agencies to have a united front and make a good showing on behalf of Archuleta County. If you have questions, please contact Mary Jo at (970) 264-2360 or director@pagosachamber.com.
