Pagosa Chamber Announces Special Opportunities for Pagosa Non-Profits

In the next few months there will be lots of activity for our non-profit agencies. This activity is for the improved functionality of the organization as well as trainings leading up to Rural Philanthropy Days being held in early June in Durango.

We start off with the 3-part training series for a board member and a staff member to attend in the Pagosa Board Training hosted by the Community Foundation Serving Southwest Colorado. These sessions will be held March 27, April 4 or April 5 and April 10. The cost for these three sessions for two people is only $60.

Those interested in attending should register at www.swcommunityfoundation.org/nonprofit-resources.

Help your organization define board roles, financial oversight, maintaining strategic focus, building a solid governance foundation, fundamentals of fundraising and Rural Philanthropy Day prep.

On Wednesday, March 29, the Community Development Corporation will host a Non-Profit Networking workshop for executive directors and board presidents. It is free and will be held at the Ross Aragon Community Center from 9am to noon. The Pagosa non-profit world of strengths, challenges, a collaboration wish list and ways the CDC can help our nonprofits will all be discussed.

Finally, non-profits should be gearing up for Rural Philanthropy Days in Durango to be held June 7-9. This event occurs in our region only every 4 years and is a critical time when non-profits can gain valuable educational information, networking capacity and those very important meetings with philanthropic funders.
