Pagosa UU Service This Sunday to Consider ‘Solidarity’

“Rooted in Solidarity” is the title for this Sunday’s worship service at Pagosa Unitarian Universalist (UU) Fellowship, March 15, at 10:30 a.m. As a UU fellowship, we are part of an association of more than 1,000 congregations in the U.S. We are inspired to share this offering from the Side With Love interfaith advocacy campaign as part of our justice-focused programing.

Join us this Sunday for a UU inclusive worship service designed for any concerned citizens needing a space to respond to the moments of crisis and collective grief in these unsettling times.

This service will offer a liturgy of stories, readings, songs and shared reflections that help communities ground themselves in our history of showing up in times of need, and help generate the spiritual strength needed to act with clarity and courage right now.

This worship tells stories from our Unitarian, Universalist and UU history: stories of how ordinary people responded and showed up in very different ways to side with love, and show up with justice. There is no sermon; this service is told through a host of readers and responses led by a worship leader. We are grateful to Dave Pettus and Susan Kuhns for providing music for this inspired service, “Rooted in Solidarity.”

For more information about other offerings, we encourage a look at our website, PagosaUU.org. The UU space is used as a Community Hub for the Pagosa community, and offers space for a variety of opportunities for spiritual growth and connection.

The Tara Meditation Group is held most Sundays from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Email the fellowship to be added to the list and receive information and notices about this meditation practice. Qigong practice is held at 1 p.m. on Monday afternoons, and all are welcome. The Wise and Wakeful Circle, hosted by Elaine Harding and Sam Johnson, meets the second and fourth Saturdays at 10 a.m. The next gatherings will be March 14 and 28.

The Pagosa UU Fellowship is located in the Greenbriar Plaza, Unit B-15, 301 N. Pagosa Blvd., on the north side facing Pagosa Peak. We celebrate diversity and foster a spiritual home for those wishing to “Make Friends, Grow in Spirit and Do Good.”
