‘Second Chance Prom’ Fundraiser Coming in May

Get ready to dust off your dancing shoes and step into a glamorous ‘Night in Hollywood’ at Pagosa Community Initiative’s (PCI) Second Chance Prom 2026, the organization’s largest and most beloved annual fundraiser.

Scheduled for May 16 at the Ross Aragon Community Center (451 Hot Springs Blvd.), this sparkling evening promises fun, connection and a powerful boost for the folks who call Archuleta County home.

PCI stands as Archuleta County’s trusted family resource center, delivering vital services that strengthen our community from the ground up. From free after-school programs and summer camp scholarships to essential therapy, youth initiatives and family support projects, PCI creates a vibrant, inclusive safety net for students, parents and neighbors in need.

The organization’s impact was recently recognized when PCI earned the Pagosa Springs Area Chamber of Commerce’s 2025 Non-Profit of the Year award — a distinction that fills us with profound pride and humility as we continue our mission.

“Prom is more than a night of celebration,” said Carrie Blue-White, PCI’s board chair and the pioneer of Second Chance Prom. “It’s a community effort that funds vital initiatives — from youth programs to therapy services and family support projects. We rely on local energy and generosity to make it possible.”

This isn’t just an event — it’s a heartfelt celebration of community resilience and generosity where every donation and ticket sale directly fuels PCI’s life-changing work across our county.

Community members and local business owners can get involved now:

Donate silent auction items: Baskets, experiences, gift cards or unique services from your business will create buzz and raise crucial funds. Your contribution helps keep programs free for those who need them most.

Buy tickets, reserve tables or vote for your favorite royalty couple: Gather friends, family or colleagues for an unforgettable night. Secure your spot now at www.givebutter. com/PCIprom2026 and be part of the magic. You do not have to attend the event to vote for your favorite couple. Each dollar they raise in their name helps them get closer to winning the crown.

Whether you’re volunteering your time and ideas at upcoming planning meetings, sponsoring the evening or simply attending, your support makes PCI’s mission thrive. Past participants rave about the shared purpose and real impact — now it’s your turn to shine.

To donate, volunteer, or learn more, contact Carrie Blue-White at carrie.blue@gmail.com or Rebecca Tenpenny at director@pagosacommunityinitiative.org or call (970) 585-6461.

Let’s make Second Chance Prom 2026 our best yet. Together, we’re building a brighter Pagosa.
