CHAMBER NEWS: A Time for Learning and a Time for Fun

August is a time for last minute fun before the school year begins. The Chamber is here to support all the fun in August as well as provide you with some fun learning through the fall.

Grillin’ & Distillin’ is finally here! It happens this Saturday, August 23, at the Archuleta County Fairgrounds from 12:00pm – 5:00pm. We will have master grillers and backyard grillers; we just need you to come out and enjoy all the amazing and delicious BBQ.

We will be having a People’s Choice winner as well as winners in the categories of Beans, Chicken, Ribs, and Brisket! So, with choices like that, a good time will surely be had. Our Distillers are a competitive group as well, and they will be vying for the People’s Choice Award. We will have retail vendors present to add to the fun, along with some food for purchase food trucks for those not wanting to have BBQ. Plenty of cold beverages will be there for sale so we can all stay hydrated and focused on having a good time. This is a family fun event with snow cones, face painting, and some great live music. Tylor Brandon will be there as well as SolOverLuna.  Knockout music for what is sure to be a knockout day…

We really look forward to everyone coming out and enjoying themselves, and want to thank our sponsors, because without their generosity this event would not be possible.

I would be remiss to not remind everyone to Don’t Drink and Drive. There will be spirits to enjoy and taste, but we care about the safety of you and others. If you find you can’t drive and need a ride, please find someone from the Chamber and we will be happy to help arrange a safe way home, or plan ahead and arrange a designated driver. There is more fun to be had this year, and lots of memories to be made in each of our lives. Please come on out and join us at Grillin’& Distillin’ THIS Saturday from 12pm – 5pm at the famous Archuleta County Fairgrounds.
