HIGHWAY 160 RECONSTRUCTION UPDATE: Week of August 11-16

Nighttime paving operations are scheduled tonight, Monday, August 11, and Tuesday, August 12.

Some smaller paving operations are anticipated to take place throughout the next few weeks, from 1st to 3rd streets, to retouch portions of the new pour.

The majority of project paving operations will take place at night, which will reduce impacts to the traveling public. Trucks will start rolling in around 7pm and continue until 7am.

Work Activity This Week
The Town of Pagosa Springs has several concurrent projects taking place in and near the US 160 work zone. Please visit Pagosa’s website for more information: https://www.pagosasprings.co.gov/home-page/page/summer-2025-road-projects

1st to 3rd Streets – Installation of light pole foundations continues.

2nd and 4th Street intersections – On the north side of the street, intersections remain closed until utility work and paving are complete.

3rd to 4th Street/Pagosa Middle School – Lighting conduit installation occurs near the Middle School.

NOTE: Sidewalk demolition has begun in front of Pagosa Middle School. This will lead to pedestrian detours around the demolition site. Please utilize crossings at Hot Springs Boulevard and 3rd Street to navigate around the demolition. Use the pedestrian flags provided by the Town to cross 3rd Street.

Lewis Street and Tennyson Park – In mid-August, excavation near the sculpture park is planned for geothermal utilities. Pedestrians need to plan for sidewalk detours around the work at this location in the near future.

Saturday work will continue on the project for the foreseeable future.

Watch Where You Walk
Pedestrian crosswalks will be open at 1st, 3rd and 4th Streets. Mid-block crossings between 4th and 5th remain closed, but the crosswalk at 5th Street remains open.
