Thanks to Mr. Hudson for his editorials regarding metro districts, particularly as proposed by the developer of Pagosa West Subdivision. I am now a bit less ignorant re metro districts.
It seems to me that the creation of a metro district for Pagosa West — and surely more would follow — will greatly benefit the developer and will likely benefit the town’s budget. But I am not understanding the value of a metro district for the residents and businesses of Pagosa West.
I truly hope that the Pagosa Springs Town Council and Town Planning Commission are seriously considering the probable impact of a metro district on the residents-to-be of Pagosa West.
Mr. Hudson wrote, “Some might argue, for instance, that we already have enough layers of government and taxation in our community.” Ya think?
