Thank You, Pagosa, for Successful ‘Runway For Rise’ Event

By Carmen Lewis

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to the Pagosa Springs Community! RUNWAY for RISE was a huge success because of YOU!

RUNWAY for RISE grossed over $103,000.

We are still in awe at the success of this event and we truly cannot thank you enough.  I’ve had perpetual goosebumps ever since I announced that incredible number.  What you as our donors and guests were able to raise for Rise and our clients was well beyond our expectations.  Because of your generosity, we, together, will continue in our unity, collaborating for the sake of our whole — victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

Thank you for being our blessed bees!

It Takes All of Us to End Domestic Violence
Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October aims to raise awareness about domestic violence, its impact on individuals and communities, and the resources available for those affected. Throughout the month, Rise will present several educational articles to help increase awareness as well as decorate the town’s lampposts with purple ribbons to signify our support of survivors.

“It Ends With Us” Movie Event
October 24, 6pm at the Liberty Theater

Join Rise for a special presentation of the film “It Ends With Us,” adapted from Colleen Hoover’s best selling novel. A panel discussion with local area professionals will follow for a robust community conversation. For more information on the movie event or to purchase tickets, visit www.riseaboveviolence.org.

Carmen Lewis has been the Executive Director of Rise Above Violence since 1998.
