Pagosa Springs Medical Center Foundation Update

Dear Friends of Pagosa Springs Medical Center,

It is hard to believe that it’s almost August! Our work this summer has been exciting, and I want to share an update with you.

Our fundraising priority this year is renovating the Medical Wellness Building (MWB) on the southwest corner of Highway 160 and South Pagosa Boulevard. We are fortunate to have been awarded a grant for $1 million, as well as generous gifted donations to make phase one of the renovation possible. The MWB will house our Health in Motion service line, which will initially address market demand for expanded orthopedics, physical therapy and interventional pain management.

Scott Smith, MD, FACC
Dr. Robert Lambert, PSMC’s cardiologist for the past 8 years, is retiring. He came here in late 2017 to provide local cardiology care, and we are grateful for his service to our patients. We are fortunate to have Cardiologist Dr. Scott Smith step in to carry this important service line forward, ensuring continuity of patient care in our community.

Dr. Bill Jordan
Dr. Bill Jordan, Oncologist and Hematologist, who has had a long and distinguished career, is once again at the helm of the Cancer Center, working full time to care for our patients as we search for a permanent oncologist. We will soon welcome a new oncology nurse practitioner, more to follow.

PSMC is welcoming two new Primary Care Clinic providers, Shelby Aragon, FNP-C and Rebekah Munnikhuysen, PA-C. Also joining our medical staff is Emily Barber, FNP, PSMC Clinic Specialist Support provider and Jacob Abbas, LPC, Integrated Behavioral Health Specialist.

How wonderful it was to be with our friends at this summer’s Gala to dine and dance at the Alley House Grille, celebrate our medical center, and raise funds.

PSMC is collaborating with Archuleta County for the 2nd Annual Tough Enough to Wear Pink rodeo to raise awareness and funds for the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. It will be held on Friday, August 2, at the Archuleta County Fairgrounds. For more information, contact Jodi Scarpa at 970-799-0300.

PSMC Foundation staff have updated the donor recognition wall across from registration in the front lobby. Your contributions have made a profound difference in the lives of our patients and our community. Stop by and see your name on the mountains.

I appreciate all of your support for the medical center, our staff and our community.

Best to all,
Rhonda P. Webb, MD, CEO/CMO
