Riff Raff Brewing Company, a cornerstone of the Pagosa Springs craft beer scene for 11 years, announces a strategic shift focusing its operations on its vibrant riverfront location. As part of this exciting evolution, the company will close its original location at 274 Pagosa Street in late-September.
“This decision allows us to better serve our loyal customers and focus on the future of Riff Raff Brewing,” said Shelly Cox, co-founder and Chief Operating Officer at Riff Raff Brewing Company. “We’re embarking on a brand refresh, and the riverfront location perfectly embodies the spirit of Riff Raff – vibrant, welcoming, and community-oriented.”
By streamlining operations and closing the original location on September 30, Riff Raff Brewing aims to invest further in its core offerings at the Riff Raff on the Rio riverfront location. All staff members will retain their jobs, as the focus on the riverside location will enhance the guest experience by expanding dining areas and diversifying food and beverage options. This also includes:
- Introducing a fresh brand identity
- Diversifying the selection of hand-crafted beers
- Enhancing the food menu with exciting new dishes
- Creating an even more inviting taproom experience

Riff Raff Brewing remains deeply committed to the Pagosa Springs community. The Riff Raff team looks forward to continuing to welcome guests, and will remain a central hub for craft beer lovers in town.
Riff Raff Brewing expresses its deepest gratitude to the dedicated staff and loyal patrons at the 274 Pagosa Street location who have supported the brewery for over a decade. The downtown location is the original Riff Raff location and embodies the spirit of creating a space for the community to gather. This gathering space and “publick house” mentality will continue at the riverside location, Riff Raff on the Rio, after September 30.
