‘Main Street’ Group Seeking Survey Responses About Highway 160 Reconstruction

The volunteer group known as ‘Pagosa Springs Main Street’, in coordination with the Pagosa Springs Community Development Corporation (PSCDC), is inviting downtown businesses and residents to participate in a survey related to the proposed reconstruction of Highway 160 through the downtown core, over the next two or three years.

The reconstruction is being funded by the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), but will be performed by a private contractor who has not yet been chosen.  The reconstruction will involve the installation of a concrete roadway between S. 8th Street and N. 1st Street, to include new or replacement underground utilities and reconstructed sidewalks.

Downtown parking will be significantly impacted (and reduced) during the two- or three-year project.

For more information, see our Daily Post article about the February 13 presentation by CDOT.

You can participate in the online survey here.

The Main Street Program’s Cone Zone Care Committee is here to help support our downtown businesses through the Highway 160 Construction Project scheduled to begin this spring. CDOT plans to release the RFP for bids during the third week of February 2024, and we will keep you informed as dates become available.

Our goal is to help minimize disruption to businesses and the downtown way of life in Pagosa Springs. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey and let us know your thoughts and ideas. We look forward to working together, collaborating on creative solutions, and fostering resilience in our community during this construction project and beyond.
