The San Juan National Forest Pagosa District is soliciting proposals from prospective outfitter and guide companies or individuals interested in providing commercial fishing services to the public on SJNF lands. Applications must be received at the Pagosa District office by 4:30pm, March 25, 2024.

This is a limited prospectus for fishing only. Applicants should carefully read the entire application package, which contains the prospectus and all supporting materials. The fishing activities are only for San Juan National Forest lands on the Pagosa District. Season of use will run from mid-May to the end of October.

All items listed under application package requirements must be completed and included for a proposal to be considered. Applicants are required to pay a $150 business/financial review fee, payable to Ft. Lewis College, which must be submitted with the application.

The final decision on issuance of a special use permit will be contingent on compliance with any needed environmental analysis as determined by the National Environmental Policy Act. Selected applications may be subject to cost recovery pursuant to 36 CFR 251.58(c)(3)(iii).

The application package is available on the SJNF website at this link. Hard copies will be available upon request at any San Juan National Forest office.
