The Pagosa Springs Area Tourism Board and the weekly Pagosa Springs SUN have begun promoting three holiday lighting contests, with voting to be conducted online between November 24 and December 18.
The contest sponsors aim to enhance the atmosphere around the community, during the numerous festive events taking place in and around Pagosa through the end of December.
Participating addresses will be promoted to locals and visitors.
To enter the contest, complete the online form here, by end of day on November 15.
Residential lighting contest
Residential homes will be judged on creativity and will vie for award cash prizes: first ($1000), second ($500) and third ($250).
Participating homes must be decorated by November 24, and will be expected to light their displays every evening from 6-8pm, between November 24 and December 31.
Business lighting contest
The business lighting contest is open to any Pagosa Springs area business with a property to decorate. Decoration must be completed and lit by by November 24. Business properties are asked to light their displays every evening from 6-8pm between November 24 and the end of the year.
Business prizes: first ($1,000), second ($500) and third ($250) will be awarded as advertising in The Pagosa Springs SUN.
Storefront window contest
The storefront window contest is open to any Pagosa Springs area business with a storefront window to decorate. Decoration must be completed and lit by by November 24. Business properties are asked to light their displays every evening from 6-8pm between November 24 and the end of the year.
