Pagosa Peak Open School Displays Models of Future Playground

After months of collecting and sharing ideas from the Pagosa Springs community, the Playground for the People committee has three models ready for community members to see and weigh in on at the Ruby M. Sisson Memorial Library downtown.

The models will be displayed until June 1, with feedback forms available for community members to fill out.

The ‘Playground for the People’ received a $25,000 grant through the Colorado Health Foundation to begin planning a new playground space around Pagosa Peak Open School. The playground will serve the students’ during school hours, and the community during after school hours.

With limited uptown playground spaces available to the public, the planning team is hoping to create a fun, outdoor space for Pagosa families.

The models on display include ideas collected during their planning meetings throughout the year.

After the planning stage is finished, the Playground for the People committee can submit for the next stage of the grant, and begin renovating the PPOS outdoor space with play spaces for all ages.
