‘HomesFund’ Offering Homebuyer Classes in Pagosa

The HomesFund is back to teaching Homebuyer Education Classes locally in Pagosa Springs.

The Homebuyer Education Class will equip you with the knowledge needed to navigate the housing market to become a homeowner. This class is a high level overview of the whole home buying process, everything from budgeting to determine what you can afford, lending and what you can qualify for, shopping for the home, the contract period and what to expect post-closing. Completion of this course opens up various subsidized lending programs as well as HomesFund’s down payment assistance up to $125,000.

A class is scheduled in Pagosa Springs this coming Saturday, May 20, from 8:30am – 4:30pm at the Ross Aragon Community Center. There will be periodic breaks and a 1-hour break for lunch.

Registration for class is through HomesFund’s website, www.homesfund.org and a $15 workbook fee will be collected at registration.

The HomesFund is a non-profit organization geared toward helping moderate to lower income families achieve stability through home ownership. As HUD certified housing counselors, we work with a families to identify obstacles to home ownership, help them work through these obstacles, determine what they can qualify for and what they can afford, as well as determine if HomesFund can provide down payment assistance.

Since we opened up 11 years ago, HomesFund has graduated over 2,600 students through the Homebuyer Education Class, has advised over 1,800 families, helped over 1,300 families purchase homes, and have provided down payment assistance to 350 families.
