Geothermal Greenhouse Partnership (GGP) is bringing another great selection of first-run environmental films to Pagosa Springs on April 14 and 15. GGP invites Pagosans to the Springs Resort to view films and to celebrate Colorado.
Friday evening, April 14, at 5pm, GGP supporters will be treated to a Premiere Gala. Guests will enjoy three films, a crepe buffet in the Springs’ Phoenix Room, a discounted cash bar, and a conversation with filmmaker Christi Bode Skeie. Christi’s acclaimed film, Farm to Faucet (and two surprises), will be shown.
Premiere Gala guests also receive entry into Saturday’s nine films. Premiere Gala tickets are $50 and can be purchased here.
Ticket holders do not receive paper tickets. Your names will be at the registration table where GGP volunteers will welcome and wristband you.
Saturday, April 15, two seatings are offered. All nine films will be shown at 11 am and again at 5pm. Snacks will be offered and a discounted cash bar is available after 4pm. Buy your Saturday tickets for only $15 at this website.
This year’s film line-up is all about Colorado. Points of view range from a legendary conservationist to young climate activists. Films explore contemporary Indigenous perspectives and scientific approaches to counting birds. These nine films will be shown Saturday in two seatings:
Right Here Right Now
Voices of the Grand Canyon
Our Desert Farms
Chasing Water
Mighty Oak
Farm to Faucet
Counting Cranes
The Seekers
Amache Rose
Pagosa Springs’ San Juan River water joins the Colorado River and runs through the canyon. The CEFF awarded “Voices” Best Short Film in 2023. It provides an indigenous perspective to changes to native lands and in our western water.
The CEFF and GGP share a common goal. CEFF says, “With a growing public awareness for the environment, CEFF aims to inspire audiences through films to motivate them to make a difference in their community.”
The GGP’s supporters certainly make a difference in the Pagosa Springs community. Round up your friends and purchase your tickets today.
All proceeds benefit the nonprofit GGP’s operations. Seating is limited. GGP’s Environmental Film Festival sold out in 2022, so purchasing tickets in advance means your name will be on the list at the registration table. Saturday tickets may be purchased for cash at the door, if there are unfilled seats.
Colorado Environmental Film Festival (CEFF) has sponsored GGP since 2013. GGP thanks all our 2023 Sponsors, Film Fest guests, and donors. Our invaluable volunteers make GGP’s educational site in Centennial Park possible.
Earth Day is Saturday, April 22. See you on the River Walk, where GGP is “growing food and community with local energy!”
