Under the direction of Dale Scrivener and Dan Burch, the Music and Theater Department at Pagosa Springs High School has spent the last nine weeks preparing for the spring musical: Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast”, and the curtain goes up tonight, Tuesday, March 14, at 7pm for the exciting opening night performance.

More than 50 high schoolers involved in the production’s the cast and crew, and have worked tirelessly to put together this classic tale.

Tickets are available for $15 in advance online at https://our.show/pagosabeast — or $18 at the door. With only five performances from March 14 through 18 at 7pm, tickets are bound to go fast.

“Beauty and the Beast” is a timeless tale, wherein a daughter takes her father’s place as captive in the castle of a monstrous beast, and learns that “home” can come in different forms, and not always the way we would expect.

Meanwhile, the beast, who was once selfish and heartless, learns to love unconditionally.

“Beauty and the Beast” re3minds us that relationships actually take time to develop trust, companionship and ultimately a true, selfless love.

With the support from many, we have been able to mount this timeless Disney classic, with costumes provided by Theatre By Design, sets designed by Dale Scrivener and Amelia Berndt, choreography by Casey Rumberger, coaching by Gus Palma and music direction by Dan and Venita Burch.

We promise you will be impressed by this talented group of students as they bring a timeless story to life on the Pagosa Springs High School stage.
