This weekend at Thingamajig Theatre, beginning this evening, will include three performances of “Bright Star,” two of “Guys and Dolls’” and one matinee performance of “The SpongeBob Musical.”

Reserve your tickets for these wonderful, Broadway quality musicals before the season closes on August 24.

“Bright Star” was nominated for five Tony Awards in 2016 dominated by the musical “Hamilton.” The beautifully crafted musical by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell will move you from beginning to end with the life story of Alice Murphy. Andrew Barrett Lewis, director, masterfully crafted Thingamajig’s production of “Bright Star” starring Allie Tamburello in one of her dream roles. “Bright Star” may become your new favorite dramatic musical. “Bright Star” will be performed at 7pm tonight, and on July 28, July 30 and Thursday August 4.

“Guys and Dolls” will have two performances in the week ahead, on Friday, July 29 and Wednesday, August 3. Both performances will be at 7pm for this romantic comedy musical. The upbeat and energetic production is filled with breath taking dance numbers choreographed by director, Pia Wyatt. The terrific voices of the summer company, under the musical direction of Thingamajig’s veteran voice master, Boni McIntyre, will delight.

“The SpongeBob Musical” will be the matinee on Sunday, July 31 to close out the month of twenty-five performances of the rotating summer musicals. Entertaining for all ages, “The SpongeBob Musical” is an uplifting show with a positive message. Opening in 2017 on Broadway, “SpongeBob SquarePants, The Broadway Musical” was nominated for twelve Tony Awards in 2018. Numerous popular artists contributed songs to the musical, produced by Nickelodeon.

Ethan Hardy Benson, starring as SpongeBob, brings joy, hope and an amazing voice to his character.
