Humane Society Online Auction Continues Through July 5

By Robson Reyes

The Humane Society of Pagosa Springs (HSPS) has canceled its live portion of the Auction for the Animals event as a result of the recent rapid increase in COVID cases and the uncertainty in the economy. In addition, in today’s turbulent world, it is very difficult to plan an in-person event with constant changes in prices for goods and services, which means the cost to host a live event is more expensive than ever.

Therefore, HSPS has decided to host its auction strictly online so that almost all funds from this crucial fundraising event can go directly towards the care of its shelter animals, rather than towards hosting an extravagant in-person event.

HSPS is very excited to share that the online auction will be bigger than ever and is running for two full weeks, starting June 20 and ending July 5.

The event still includes its popular virtual ‘Pet Fashion Show’ starting tomorrow, Saturday, June 25 where viewers can watch animals strut their stuff in support of its Pagosa Springs animal shelter. Audience members can vote for their favorite costumed pets.

Additionally, virtual auction attendees can bid on hundreds of incredible items including jewelry, art, home goods, outdoor gear, gift baskets and gift certificates from local businesses such as Goodman’s, Chow Down, Momentum Fitness, local veterinarians, a multitude of local restaurants, as well as gift certificates from local nearby towns like Creede, Lake City, Ouray, Chama and Durango. There are adventure items like Cumbre Toltec railroad train passes, San Juan Dog Sledding, Wolf Creek ski passes, Overlook Hot Springs soak passes, Creede Rep Theatre tickets, and so much more…

The Humane Society of Pagosa Springs is not immune to the current ever-changing economic times, which is why they need your support now more than ever. For the last two years, HSPS has hosted its auction event online with great success and looks forward to another successful online auction again this year. We are so grateful to all of the individuals and businesses who have donated towards our auction, and to all of our sponsors who have so generously supported our event.

Start previewing items and bidding on your favorites starting June 20th by visiting www.hspsauction.org.

HSPS thanks you for your support!
