HMPRESENTLY: Craving ‘Clicks’… or ‘Impressions’

‘Clicks.’ That’s what they’re mainly called.

When you’d like to get some inkling of how you’re doing, at attracting readers to something you’ve posted online, ‘clicks’ may give you a little inkling.

Sometimes, online sites have another word for ‘clicks.’ The business-focused site, where I’ve posted commentary, tallies ‘impressions,’ rather than ‘clicks.’

That’s a pretty good word — ‘impressions’ — especially when, in dictionaries, it’s defined as “a strong effect produced on the intellect, feelings, conscience, etc.” The number of ‘impressions’ for some of the commentary I’ve posted is growing, with one post about the word ‘woke,’ so far, having generated 163 impressions.

I’ve just posted something, with God wondering if an email, received in heaven’s inbox, might be one of those spam emails.

It’s an email from some ‘high official,’ someplace, saying: I have such wonderful news, my good friend — Mr. God — that you are entitled to a large portion of a fortune of unclaimed money, discovered in our most hidden and secret vault. In the amount of 10,000,000 (US denomination) funds.

She — God — is on to that kind of email, especially the part referring to her as ‘Mr. God,’ which immediately arouses her suspicions.

But, no, this email is different. It’s from an Earthling seeking God’s opinion on white supremacism. The sender believes it’s being all misunderstood.

Now really, God, aren’t some folks simply superior to just about everyone else?

The emailer is seeking God’s views on that.

As she starts typing her response, she’s wondering… Should I mention something about ‘all god’s children?’ Might that resonate with the emailer? Maybe get him – the emailer’s Christian name seems to be that of the male gender – to think, a little, about equality? About, you know, all god’s children… each and every one of them?

Dare I mention anything about one’s, perhaps, ‘one-dimensional views’ on things?

Should I let him know… I’m a her?

I’ll be tracking the ‘impressions’ metrics for this post.
